'Wings Over Paris' Altered Book

2-08-KerstensBook, originally uploaded by Collage Contessa.
(this and the 2nd 2-page spread works for Wednesday Stamper's theme 'Stars'.)

Does art ever make you 'pine' for something, someone or someplace? Working in this latest altered book has made me long to visit Paris, France. I've never been there. DH and I keep saying we're going to go on our 20th anniversary. Well, that's this July. I doubt we'll get there, so I have to be content with doing Paris art. Have you ever been to France? What's your favorite thing? What would you be sad you had missed if you hadn't gone to see it? A friend lives in Paris and is always saying 'I went here or there, and such.' I love listening to her tell about the places she goes daily. I dream of there being just these massive (and cheap) flea markets and little hole in the wall antique type shops where I'll find all the ephemera and assemblage pieces I've always dreamed about. I want to take pics of all the buildings, the details of the architecture and use it in my art. I want to experience french food and the countryside (I love bread and cheese!) My only problem is, I'm afraid if I go, I'll never want to leave! lol

  16. You have captured the essence of Paris as far as I'm concerned! What a beautiful book. I was lucky enough to visit Paris twice and it left a lasting impression on me. I miss great coffee, fresh croissants and the 'arty air'!! I adore it and I think, were I to return, I would probably never leave... :o)

Haven't been to France, but I've been to England and never forgotten it. I wouldn't trade those trips for the world. Go, go, go!

My husband and I will also be married 20 years, in May.

    Your book is stunning!
