New Yarning Projects

Once upon a time there was a girl with a cough. A cough that just wouldn't go away, and made her tired. She was bored laying around all day. So she started to peruse Pinterest, you know, to pass the time while she rested. One thing led to another and she ended up organizing her mess-o-yarn collection (something that could be done sitting down and resting) and starting new projects.

As you can see, I'm working on a blanket for my bed. Trying to use up various half skeins of yarn. Doubling the yarn, mixing yarns and using a size 'N' crochet needle, the blanket is going fast! It's a little over 3 feet square right now. My least favorite part is stitching in the ends where I've added in new colors, a necessary evil.

After organizing the yarn mess I had extra pieces of various yarns. I used them to make Pom poms. On Pinterest I found instructions for making Flower Pom poms and Polka Dot Pom poms. So easy, I don't know why I haven't thought of making Pom poms this way before! I think I'm going to use them to make a wall hanging like this one, for over my bed.

Its New Year's eve and we're just lazing around. You can bet I'll be working on my projects into midnight!
