Caged Bird Canvas

I've been dreaming of birdcages lately. Also time crunches and missed recitals of the children, and ice cream sundaes (but those are besides the point!) ha) DH took the kids to the lake tonight to walk and take pics. So I had a little art time. I think it's done, maybe... still thinking on it. (Click for closeup details.)

It has a little distressing/crackle (see around eggs). Its freehand painted. It has a touch of fabric and a vintage button from my great grandma's collection.

I added a bit of dictionary paper to the bird's tray. The quote is by Maya Angelou.

P.S. - Added a few things to the Etsy Supplies shop (click pics for listing.):

Hey Kris...I love the caged bird canvas. It is gorgeous. Love the lace and how you used the paper on the bottom of the cage. By the way, I have you in my google reader now because the updates that I subscribed too wouldn't show me your whole post. It would only have like the first two sentences and no pics so now I can keep better track through google reader. Later :)

Your art is so inspiring. I've finally picked up a brush and have tried painting and I can't help but look at it and feel like I'm a five year old again. (as in skill) Your paintings really inspire me. Maybe I just need to try to get more creative. I adore this painting with the bird and bird cage.
