I wanted to tell you about this little book. I've agreed to review books for WaterBrook Multnomah (a division of Random house) and the first one they sent was this child's prayer book.
What a perfect moment to read with my little one. In fact, she read it to me and we discussed each page. I like that it is showing children that they can talk directly to God, about anything that matters to them; fear, sadness, happiness, right from wrong, forgiveness, being alone, selfishness, thankfulness, generosity, what they want to be when they grow up, and loving God and him returning that love. While it's a simple enough topic, no real reference to a relationship through Jesus Christ, it is a start to children realizing God is their friend and father too.
My daughter noticed the illustrations are beautiful and she likes how you can tell they're painted. In fact, she said she liked the textures! lol My little artist.
Overall I would recommend this book. Especially if you're looking for a gift for someone who does not regularly talk about God and is just learning about how he cares for them.
