Free Musical GIVEAWAY

It's time to bring music into my life. I have just the neatest new cell phone (I think I've mentioned it before?) It has lots of little whistles and bells and I now have a lovely new card that will hold music. I can be beeboppin', singing and twittering all at once! It's gonna be so cool. So, here's my problem. I don't know what to put on my phone. I love french music, 80's, 60's, some classical. But I also have songs I love from other eras, except maybe now. I'm not a lover of current music. DH says I was born in the wrong decade. He just hasn't told me yet which I would have best fit in. lol

So I come to you, dear readers. Tell me your favorite songs (nothing current.) Do you have a favorite from childhood? Do the Beatles make you scream like a fainting teenager girl? Maybe you like the 70's classic Lady Marmalade? Does Wham's 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' really float your boat? Share. If you know of any 'top hits of the ....'s' lists that might help me, I would love to see a link. Help me fill up my music playlist.

I have a present for a random contributor. This little project/prototype I worked on today (see at the top of this post.) It's a keychain mini-purse, in the shape of a cassette tape. For you youngin's, tapes were what music was sold on before CDs. It has snap closures inside and an extra pocket behind the orange part. This baby is going to hit my Etsy store over the weekend as a custom item but I thought I would give the first one away for fun! Just post with 2-3 (or more) of your favorite songs that you think I might like. I'll give them a listen and add them to my playlist, and your name will go in the drawing. I'll keep this open for a week or two, depending on how many play along. I only have so much room on my card. lol

While you're thinking of wonderful songs for me, here's lots of musical Etsy items I found to buy. Make sure to check out my shop as well. My latest Fingernest rings are named with Beatles titles/lyrics.

Well, I'm a big Concrete Blonde fan, they put out music in the 80's and 90's, one of my favorite songs of theirs is called Take Me Home - all their songs are good though! Another of my favorites from back then is Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, Shooting Rubber Bands at the Stars is an excellent CD! Let me know if you like them, I hope so! ;)

Definitely ABBA's "Waterloo" should make your playlist, Kris! :) Maybe even the Pina Colada song. Anything from the great era of disco to get you dancing would be appropro! :)

Oh how fun! And, I not only remember cassettes, I remember when I was really little and my mom had 8-tracks! :)
I'm a GIANT U2 fan, so anything from them, but "Sweetest Thing" and "MOFO" are two of my favorites. Um, "Just Like Heaven" from The Cure is too much fun to sing to, the Moulin Rouge soundtrack is in constant rotation on my iPod, and when the weather warms up anything from Jack Johnson or Jimmy Buffet fits the bill. :)

OK This is going to be hard to pick cause I LOVE all the music from 60, 70 80's, But How about Tiny Dancer, Elton John, or a little bit of "girlpower" with Magic Man by Heart, or One way or Another by Blondie, or How about My Sharona, by the Knack?? Those are a few that came to mind cause they are on a mix cd the hubby made for me for my car.I love to sing in the car when I,m by myself, I dont care who laughs at me at the red light!
luv,
Kat

Okay, now I must confess I am a biased mom. My college son belongs to a singing group called Exit 245. They are completely a'capella, vocals only, no instruments, and they travel around to colleges and high schools on the east coast. They just put out a CD called Limelight. You can find them at http://www.myspace.com/exit245 and also on You Tube. They do a wide range of material. This one is an older shoo-wap style:

My son sings a solo by Lionel Richie here:

I hope you'll take a listen! Enjoy! I'd love to win the cute purse! I have a giveaway too at http://motherspreciousgems.wordpress.com
